About Young Talent Swim School

Founded in 2022, Young Talent Swim School was created with a simple vision: to provide high-quality swimming lessons in a positive, supportive environment where every swimmer can thrive.

Today, we teach over 950 swimmers each week across multiple venues throughout Central Scotland, supported by a team of 40 qualified swimming teachers. From complete beginners taking their first steps into the water to more advanced swimmers refining their technique, our lessons are designed to build confidence, develop skills, and foster a lifelong love of swimming.

We are passionate about creating opportunities both in and out of the pool. Alongside helping the next generation develop an essential life skill, we are proud to provide meaningful employment, training and career development opportunities for swimming teachers across Scotland.

At the start of 2026, we expanded further by reopening and operating the swimming pool at Kilgraston School, ensuring this fantastic facility remained available for lessons, clubs and the wider community. With plans to introduce public lane swimming sessions, we continue to look for new ways to increase access to swimming and promote healthy, active lifestyles.

As we continue to grow, our commitment remains the same: outstanding teaching, small-group learning, and creating an environment where swimmers of all ages can achieve their potential.

Meet the Founder

Young Talent Swim School was founded by Jamie Robertson, a former international swimmer who represented Scotland on multiple occasions, won British Championship titles, and broke Scottish records during his competitive career.

Alongside competing at the highest level of the sport, Jamie has taught swimming since 2019 and worked with swimmers of all ages and abilities. His experiences as both an athlete and teacher helped shape the philosophy behind Young Talent Swim School: high-quality teaching, small class sizes, and a supportive environment where every swimmer can progress with confidence.

Following his recent retirement from competitive swimming, Jamie now focuses full-time on expanding access to swimming lessons, creating opportunities for teachers, and helping more children and adults develop a skill that can benefit them for life.

The values that guided his own journey in the sport remain at the heart of Young Talent Swim School today.
